UKCA/UKNI marks brought in alongside CE Mark. Deadline moved to 31st December 2024.
Remember that not all systems need to be certified to a BS, EN or ISO standard. MLP will be happy to assist you whatever your requirements. For those employing over 5 people a documented Health and Safety Policy and risk assessments must be in place but you do not need to be certified to ISO45001. MLP would be happy to assist with that Policy and documentation.
If you have identified that you want (or need) to be certified to a National or International standard please call us to discuss. At this stage we are not looking to sell our services but to help you decide what is right for you. Planning time is essential to ensure the system you implement reflects your business, your goals and meets necessary standard requirements. Understand the commitment and the timescales.
Team involvement is key to successful implementation. Your team will define how smooth the process is. Understand who will lead the project and discuss what training or support they will need.
If you are looking for an external consultant to support you, decide if you want a 'plug and play' system or if you want a system that represents what you do. Understand what you are signing up to. You need to be able to build a good working relationship with the consultant. Consider if you want ongoing support after implementation or if you want to go it alone. This will help you understand the team training requirements and your overall costs.
The requirements of standards are often quite generic but the business approach will vary depending on its activities, its sector and its size. MPL will take the standards formats but will review your processes and implement a system that reflects your business. We are happy to train your staff to run your system but can also offer a level of ongoing support to suit your plans.
There is one thing that MLP will insist on from the start. We will never recommend that you appoint a Certification Body that is not UKAS accredited. The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) is the sole national accreditation body for the United Kingdom. UKAS is recognised by government, to assess against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services. They accredit the Certification Bodies and ensure that they meet the standards set out internationally.
The selection of Certification Body will depend on the standard, your market sector and your business activities. MLP would always look to provide you with a number of quotes and discuss the options with you.
